Forum on Cultural Identities, Community and Belonging

When: Thursday, September 29th starting at 9:45 AM

Please register here. This will help us prepare the lunch and the cocktail.

The Forum on Cultural Identities, Community & Belonging is hosted by the Culture, Language, Identity & Community (CLIC) research group at École de langues, UQAM. CLIC’s overarching objective is to highlight the richness of the L2 student experience and advance a pedagogy of reciprocal learning where students and teachers become co-facilitators in the language development process. We recognize the evolving identities of the learners and seek to promote multicultural consciousness among students and teachers alike by raising awareness of multiple hierarchical power dynamics that are part of a language learning process.

The CLIC Forum aims to connect the educators and research communities of Montréal to work together towards the implementation of inclusive pedagogy, intercultural learning and equitable partnerships in the context of second language education and in the process of integration in the target language society.

Presentations are given in English and in French.
